About Dr. Kerson
Dr. Kerson is the clinical director of Marin Biofeedback, adjunct faculty at Saybrook University and the director of education for APEd (Applied Psychophysiology Training). She is vice president of FNNR (Foundation for Neurofeedback and Neuromodulation Research), where she continues to work with it's Board members to obtain funding through private and governmental granting sources. She is also currently working with the ICAN Study in which neurofeedback is being investigated in the treatment for child ADHD.
Dr. Kerson is a mentor for the BCIA board certification program and a member of the WABN, SABA and AAPB. Additionally, Cynthia is currently the past-president of the Biofeedback Society of California and was their Executive Director from 2004-2008. Cynthia is on the Board of Directors of the Research and Training. She was the the Executive Director of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research from 2006 till 2011 She is currently a member at large on the AAPB Board and president of it's Neurofeedback Section.
Cynthia has appeared on Channel 7 News, the Seeing Beyond radio program, and the In The Spirit of Healing television talk show. Her work has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, Common Ground Magazine and Alternative Medicine magazine. She was the EEG Expert for the popular television program MythBusters.
Cynthia earned her PhD in Applied Psychophysiology in 2008 at the University of Natural Medicine where her dissertation involved training specific brain waves to mediate anxious behaviors. She specializes in combining neurofeedback and biofeedback training for learning disabilities, hypertension, pain, depression and anxiety.
